Commonwealth Games Tickets

The Commonwealth Games 2010 are scheduled to be held in India specifically Delhi from 3 October to 14 October 2010. The opening ceremony is scheduled to take place at the Jawaharlal Nehru stadium in Delhi. This is the time that the Commonwealth Games are being held in India and the second time the event is being held in Asia.

The first phase of ticket sales for the Commonwealth Games 2010 have begun and the The Organizing Committee Commonwealth Games 2010 Delhi has mailed all the Commonwealth Games Associations (CGAs) the details including the prices mentioned in the ticket purchase form. The CGAs could purchase their tickets in the first phase which is from November 15 to January 10, Second phase of ticket sales is from January 15 to 31 March and the last opportunity to grab a ticket for the Commonwealth Games is from May 2010 till the Common wealth games begin. There would be 17 games held in six venue clusters and five stand alone venues

There are about 1.7 millions tickets which would be on sale till the start of each event so you can get your ticket from the venue itself keeping in mind that tickets are subject to availability. The ticket sales program would be help from April 2010 onwards and the effort would be to sell tickets to every possible individual who wants to witness the Commonwealth Games. Tickets would only be available through official Delhi 2010 sales channels and the Games website making it difficult for people to get fooled by fraudulent tickets.

Commonwealth Games, 2010, Opening Ceremony

The 2010, Commonwealth Games is knocking at the doors. The whole world and specially the host country, India, are waiting eagerly with all enthusiasm, to welcome this prestigious event. New Delhi is gearing up for the Games with decorations and other preparations at full swings.

The Commonwealth games will commence on 3rd of October with the Opening Ceremony and will last till 14th of October 2010. The Opening ceremony at the Commonwealth Games is one among the biggest extravaganzas of the world. It will take place in one of the largest stadiums of Delhi, the Jawaharlal Nehru Stadium, which bears a capacity of more than 70,000 spectators. Prince Charles from Britain is supposed to make his presence at the launching ceremony of the Games.
nother important event of the opening ceremony will be the famous "Queen's Baton" tradition which is also the curtain raiser of the Games. Mrs. Pratibha Patil, India's president, will grace the "Queen's Baton Relay, 2010" at the launching event of the Games. Famous sport personality from India, Abhinav Bindra will be the first baton carrier to accept the prestigious baton from the hands of the Queen.

One of the Commonwealth Games Opening Ceremony protocols consists of the marching event where all the participating countries will take part in a parade. The parade will be lead by a flag bearer. Australia, the host country of the Commonwealth Games, 2006 will lead the marching occasion while the current host country of the Games, 2010 i.e. India will stand at last. The national anthem of India will also be played during the occasion. The flags of three countries, the last host country, the present host country and the next host country, will fly at the Jawaharlal Nehru Stadium.

Besides these, there will be musical programs where many foreign as well as Indian performers will perform. Many famous personalities and celebrities from sports, politics, Bollywood etc, will grace the occasion. Dazzling fireworks will add up to the joy and excitement at the 2010 Commonwealth Games at Delhi.

The 2010 Commonwealth Games Map portrays the venues where the sporting events are to be held. The map displays the relative distance between each venue and the Games Village. The Games Village is projected to have a capacity of accommodating 8,500 athletes and accompanying officials. It is the official Commonwealth Delhi accommodation venue.
